Everybody wants to be the Doctor, but unfortunately Matt Smith’s trademark tweed jacket doesn’t come in everyone’s size. Fortunately for this kid, he’s got a clever mom who found a way to fashion an Eleventh Doctor jacket that fits him perfectly, and she even fashioned his wheelchair into a cool TARDIS.

Oh my god. Parenting, you’re doing it right.

Saul Metzstein: The really interesting shot we did [there], which is what Doctor Who has always wanted to do and never actually done, is the shot when you see the TARDIS as a box and you go into it in one shot. And we finally managed to do the “It’s bigger on the inside” shot.

I was actually thinking about this today when I rewatched the episode! I was like “Oh wow, they’ve never done that before.”

Beautifully done, too. I jumped a little in my seat when it happened. At the time I couldn’t figure out why. Later on I realized it’s because I’ve been seeing that scene inside my head, from the new companion’s POV, since my twenties…. :)

Oh. Oh, that’s neat.
